My Services

In 2006, I opened the doors to my clinic with the goal of providing patients in the Middle Tennessee and Kentucky area with top-of-the-line mental health services. Whether you’re looking for help with a specific life event, or need professional assistance overcoming a traumatic experience - your wellbeing is my number one priority. I offer both in-person counseling and online or virtual counseling services.  I offer Individual Therapy for adults who are struggling with:

Anxiety/Panic

Depression

Stress Management

Anger Management

Trauma Resolution

PTSD and Abuse

Conflict Resolution

Self-Esteem

Life Stressors

Many people come to treatment because family and friends have encouraged them to do so.  At times, we may decide to include a friend or family member, but this is always your decision.  Not everyone wants other people involved in their care.

(I serve adults age 18 and up)

Office or In-Person Counseling

If you are located close enough to Portland, Tennessee, you may wish to be seen in-person.  This is typically what people think of when they think of "going to counseling."  My office is very cozy, warm, and inviting. It may feel like we are meeting in my living room.  It may feel more personal.  Sometimes people want to be in a different environment, away from distractions that home might bring.  It may feel more private to you, especially if you live with others and you don't always have the privacy you want.

ONLINE THERAPY

Online or Virtual Therapy offer multiple benefits:

The distance factor--sometimes the right therapist is across the state or just too far for driving comfort.  With online therapy, one is able to receive help from a remote location.  I am licensed in Tennessee and Kentucky which makes it easier for someone in a remote area to access therapy.

For others, it is about convenience--it is easier to coordinate a time around a lunch hour or work /school responsibilities and not have to miss a class or work.  Sometimes it is difficult to get to an office due to family responsibilities. Online therapy makes it happen!

When the weather is inclement, therapy can continue without undue burden.  You may not like to drive in the rain, snow, or dark.  Or you may not be able to drive due to anxiety.  You can still get help.  Some people experience anxiety regarding face-to-face appointments while talking about their struggles.

The pandemic has caused many to rethink about how comfortable they are around others.    Others have health issues and getting out is very difficult.  Online therapy offers help in the comfort of your home.

You may wonder if online therapy is effective or if it feels very personal.  Research shows that virtual therapy is just as effective as in-person therapy.  I have found that after the initial session, most people don't really notice the difference between in-person and virtual. I use a HIPPA compliant platform to help ensure confidentiality.

Whether you choose in-office or online appointments, your needs can be met.
